Students visit the UK's first battery industrialisation centre

Would-be engineers were given a behind the scenes look at the UK’s first battery industrialisation centre (UKBIC) as part of a work experience placement with NG Bailey.

A group of six students spent a week with NG Bailey meeting a range of engineers, planners, designers and apprentices and visiting UKBIC.

During the week-long programme, they took part in workshops led by our expert project teams learning about the many aspects involved in installing mechanical and electrical installations into buildings.

They were then put to the test designing and presenting their ideas for the mechanical and electrical fit-out of a school science laboratory.  At the end of the week students told us the week had given them a much greater insight into the variety of careers available in the industry; the importance of sustainability and the level of organisation and planning involved in major engineering projects.
