  • The Very Group

We are proud to have been appointed by The Very Group to deliver mechanical and electrical maintenance and engineering services across key locations within its UK estate. The three-year contract will see our Technical Facilities Services team support six operational sites, including The Very Group’s head office in Liverpool, two fulfilment centres in the East Midlands and Wrexham, and satellite sites in London and across the North West.

The Very Group is one of the UK’s leading digital retailers, with an estate that plays a vital role in supporting its customers, colleagues and day to day operations. From fulfilment and distribution through to workplace and data centre environments, the performance of these buildings is central to keeping the business moving.

For NG Bailey, the appointment is an important step in the continued growth of our Technical Facilities Services business and reinforces our role as a trusted partner for organisations with complex, operationally important estates.

Supporting a fast-moving retail operation

Retail environments rely on buildings, systems and infrastructure that perform consistently. Across The Very Group’s estate, our role will be to help maintain safe, compliant and resilient environments that support business continuity and operational performance.

Our scope includes planned and reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance, statutory compliance, asset management, technical support and wider service delivery across the portfolio. The contract will be supported by a dedicated account structure, local engineering teams, specialist technical expertise and our wider national support network.

This approach brings together the strength of a national technical services business with the local knowledge and responsiveness needed to support The Very Group’s operations every day.

Building resilience from day one

A smooth transition is critical to the long-term success of any technical services partnership. We will deliver a structured mobilisation programme designed to provide stability, continuity and confidence from the outset.

The programme will include clear governance, active risk management, transparent reporting and close engagement with The Very Group and the transferring team. We will work closely with all stakeholders throughout mobilisation to make sure the service is well planned, well communicated and ready to support business as usual from day one.

Our priority is to retain operational knowledge, support the people transferring into NG Bailey and create a strong platform for future performance.

Turning asset insight into long term value

A key part of our approach will be the completion of detailed asset verification across the estate. This will give The Very Group improved visibility of asset condition, lifecycle requirements and future investment priorities.

By building a clearer picture of the estate, we can support more informed decisions around maintenance planning, compliance, resilience and future capital investment. This is where technical facilities services can create real value, moving beyond reactive maintenance and helping customers plan with greater confidence.

The contract will be supported by digital platforms, management information and operational reporting to improve transparency and strengthen service performance. Through better data, clearer reporting and consistent engineering standards, we will help The Very Group identify opportunities for improvement across its estate.

A partnership focused on performance

The appointment reflects the growing importance of technically led facilities services in complex operational environments. For The Very Group, this means having a partner that understands the role buildings play in supporting customer service, colleague experience and business continuity.

For NG Bailey, it is another important milestone as we continue to strengthen our Technical Facilities Services offer across retail, logistics, commercial and critical environments.

The Very Group operates in a fast-moving retail environment where building performance, engineering reliability and operational continuity are fundamental to the way the business serves its customers. This contract gives us the opportunity to bring our technical facilities services expertise into a diverse and operationally important estate, from workplace environments through to fulfilment, distribution and data centre infrastructure. Our role is to help keep those environments safe, compliant and performing, while giving The Very Group greater visibility of its assets and the confidence to plan ahead. What makes this appointment particularly exciting is the opportunity to combine strong engineering delivery with better data, clearer reporting and practical continuous improvement. We want to create a service that not only responds well, but actively helps The Very Group protect performance, improve resilience and unlock long term value across its estate.

John CooperOperations and Technical Director of Technical Facilities Services at NG Bailey

As we begin this new partnership, our focus will be on delivering a service that is technically strong, operationally reliable and aligned to the needs of The Very Group’s business. By combining our engineering expertise, digital insight and people first approach, we will support an estate that is ready to perform today and prepared for the future.
