Governance
We manage safety, health and the environment through our Plan, Do, Check, Act model.
Our priority is to protect the wellbeing of our people, customers, supply chain partners, and the communities we work in - ensuring everyone returns home safely at the end of each day.

We’re proud of our robust safety standards, processes, and procedures, which we continually review and refine to stay at the forefront of best practice.
We manage safety, health and the environment through our Plan, Do, Check, Act model.
Ensuring leadership at every level is visible and felt.
Everyone understanding their responsibilities and being accountable for their actions.
Introducing new processes to positively affect culture change.
Ensuring health and safer workplaces.

Don't Walk By is our system for recording, reporting and actioning potential Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) issues across all our offices and projects.
We encourage everyone to look out for one another and have the confidence to speak out and report safe or unsafe acts and conditions, whilst also reporting acts of best practice, no matter how small or insignificant they think they may be.
We want everyone to work together and be actively involved with making sure any incidents are effectively resolved and best practice is acknowledged and implemented across the business.

We’re building an ethos that protects our people, supply chain partners, and customers from workplace health risks - empowering them to make informed lifestyle choices and supporting safer, healthier ways of working. We continually look for new approaches that enhance wellbeing and improve how we work.
Our wider wellbeing programme includes an annual Wellbeing Day, an employee assistance programme, a hardship fund, volunteering days, and personal development opportunities - all designed to help colleagues thrive both professionally and personally.
We’ve also strengthened psychological safety and employee voice through employee forums. These bring colleagues from across our UK sites together with leadership to raise concerns, share ideas, and collaborate on solutions. The result is a more open, engaged, and empowered workforce.

We recognise that our work impacts the environment, and we’re committed to reducing that impact through responsible planning and sustainable practices.
Every project includes an environmental risk assessment and community impact plan, helping us minimise disruption and operate responsibly wherever we work.
We prioritise low-energy solutions for our customers and use offsite manufacturing to reduce waste on site. Across our own operations, we’re lowering emissions through solar-powered offices, biomass heating, a lower-carbon vehicle fleet and digital collaboration tools that reduce travel.
In March 2025, we relocated our Leeds headquarters to White Rose Park, supporting our commitment to a better working environment and progress towards our net zero goals.
Our ongoing commitment to continuously improving our performance has been recognised and celebrated through many industry awards and accrediations.

The internationally renowned RoSPA Awards are the benchmark for excellence, recognising outstanding achievements and dedication to workplace safety across the globe.

In 2026, we received 10 RoSPA awards across our group of businesses.

As a responsible business, undertaking our activities to the highest standards is really important to us.
