Our commitment to reducing carbon

We are committed to reducing emissions across all our activities. By working closely with our supply chain, clients, and partners, we aim to support decarbonisation and drive meaningful, positive impact.

Our approach focuses on a range of initiatives under pinned by our approved science-based targets, ensuring measurable and lasting progress.

0%reduction in our carbon footprint since 2018/19 baseline
0%Target to reduce carbon emissions by 2031 (vs. 2018/19 baseline)
0%of our supply chain to commit Science-Based Targets by 2027
0%reduction in absolute Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 2045

Resource use and circularity

We are committed to reducing waste and pollution, improving water stewardship, and using resources more efficiently. By embedding circular practices across our operations and projects, we aim to minimise environmental impact at every stage.

At NG Bailey, we prioritise eliminating waste at source. This is achieved through efficient design, responsible procurement, effective project management, water stewardship, ongoing training, and the use of modern construction methods.

Our focus includes reducing material waste, minimising packaging, and addressing onsite inefficiencies. We work closely with our waste partners and supply chain to limit excess materials, follow the waste hierarchy, and support take-back schemes wherever possible.

Circular Economy

We strive to keep materials and resources in use at their highest value for as long as possible, in line with circular economy principles.

Our circular approach includes the collection and return of materials used in transporting modules from our offsite manufacturing facilities to project sites, enabling their reuse in future projects.

This approach delivers significant environmental and cost benefits, including reduced carbon emissions by avoiding disposal routes and the use of virgin materials, as well as reduced waste generation. Since its inception, the scheme has delivered measurable impact, including:

0.0tonnes of CO2e saved
0tonnes of metal waste avoided
£0in disposal cost savings for our clients

Creating long-term value

We manage climate-related risks across our operations to build resilience and support long-term sustainable growth. As climate change reshapes our industry, it creates both risks and opportunities for our business, clients and society.

With the UK’s commitment to net zero, around 60% of our order book supports the transition to a low-carbon economy. Our expertise spans low-carbon buildings, sustainable transport, power infrastructure, nuclear, and offsite manufacturing - helping clients reduce carbon and create long-term value.
