The Guide Dogs Reading centre
The Guide Dogs Reading centre, is working to develop its sensory garden - a vital outdoor space designed to support guide dog users and staff with training, relaxation, and respite. Answering the call, our dedicated Mensa Team stepped in to help bring this vision to life.
Over the course of three days, 11 team members worked across the centre’s expansive grounds, including the area surrounding the veterinary facility. Their efforts included clearing weeds, cleaning patios, and tidying the gardens in preparation for a beautiful selection of donated plants soon to be added.
After a rewarding day’s work, our volunteers were invited on a tour of the the charity’s offices, print rooms, veterinary centre, and training facilities. The highlight was a moving and inspirational talk from a guide dog user, offering powerful insight into the life-changing impact of the charity’s work
