Anna Shephard, Operations Director at OSM Ventilation, an NG Bailey company, has been appointed President of the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) for 2026/27.

Anna officially began her presidency at the recent BESA President's Lunch in London, where she delivered her first speech outlining her vision for the year ahead and the opportunities facing the building engineering sector.

Addressing industry leaders and stakeholders, Anna reflected on the importance of recognising the vital contribution building engineering makes to the built environment and the role that people, skills and innovation play in the sector's success.

Throughout her address, she highlighted the need for greater collaboration across the industry, a continued focus on raising professional standards and the opportunities presented by emerging technologies. She also emphasised the importance of attracting and inspiring the next generation of talent to ensure the sector continues to thrive.

Anna's appointment comes at a significant time for the industry, with building services playing an increasingly important role in some of the UK's fastest-growing and most critical sectors, including healthcare, digital infrastructure, life sciences and the energy transition.

As BESA President, Anna will help shape conversations around the future of the industry while championing the people and businesses driving progress across the built environment.
