We have successfully completed the mechanical and electrical works at Manchester Airport Terminal 2 and Pier 2, marking a major milestone in the airport’s transformation programme.

The completion of Terminal 2 and Pier 2 represents more than a significant delivery achievement. The project has created a strong and lasting social value legacy, ensuring that local people, communities and businesses across the North West benefit directly from this major infrastructure investment.

Working in close collaboration with principal contractor Mace and our supply chain partners, we delivered a wide-ranging programme of social value activity throughout the project, supporting local communities while nurturing future talent.

Key highlights include:

  • Over £30,000 raised and donated to charities and local initiatives

  • Support provided to 27 local community groups

  • 58 weeks of work experience delivered for young people

  • 24 STEM and educational activities delivered in local schools

  • More than 800 volunteer hours contributed to environmental projects

  • Over 2,500 apprentice weeks delivered, helping develop the next generation of industry talent.

NG Bailey has been a key contributor to delivering meaningful social value, meeting all targets and supporting the programme’s wider ambitions. Their collaborative approach and strong focus on apprenticeships, social enterprise spend, and research placements has had a real, lasting impact.
