Gavin Smith Named BSE Technician Apprentice of the Year
Assistant Project Engineer, Gavin Smith, has been named BSE Technician Apprentice of the Year at the 2025 BESA Industry Awards.
Gavin, a member of our Engineering North East, Yorkshire and Scotland team, is currently working on a project in Glasgow. His award recognises the commitment, dedication and technical capability he has demonstrated throughout his apprenticeship.

I’m deeply grateful to the business and my exceptional team for their support and guidance over the past four years, which have been instrumental in helping me achieve this recognition. This award is not only a personal milestone but also a reflection of the dedication and hard work I have put in over the duration of my apprenticeship. I hope my journey inspires other apprentices to challenge themselves, strive for excellence, and pursue this award in the future.
