Delivering for BT and Royal Mail
NG Bailey IT Services has hit a major milestone in the BT Meraki Phase 6 programme, completing the installation of new infrastructure at 114 Royal Mail sites, surpassing the original target of 110.
This achievement forms part of BT and Royal Mail’s wider Network Transformation journey, which has been underway since 2022, to modernise wireless connectivity across the Royal Mail estate.
Our teams have played a key role in enabling BT to move into the next phase of the programme, which will see around 125 delivery offices across the UK refreshed with new Meraki infrastructure. Following a review of options for connectivity, Meraki, a leader in cloud-controlled Wi-Fi, was chosen as the vendor for Wi-Fi connectivity. This work supports Royal Mail’s shift from paper‑based processes to an app‑centric operation, where strong, reliable wireless coverage is essential.
“This milestone reflects the strength of our critical infrastructure capability and showcases the quality, pace and consistency of delivery across a large, geographically diverse programme. It also highlights the strong partnership between IT Services, BT and our service partners, who have worked closely together to keep the programme on track. “A huge well done to the team, it was an amazing achievement, and I know how much effort went into delivering these sites and meeting a challenging deadline.”
