Quantity surveying apprenticeship adds up for David

This year we are recruiting for quantity surveying (QS) apprentices in the North East, North West, Reading, and central Scotland, and today David, one of our second-year QS apprentices shares his experience.

“There’s never a dull moment or a slow day as an NG Bailey apprentice. One of my main duties is to assist with progress reporting, keeping a daily photo log helps with visually showcasing the progress made from one week to another to our main contractor. I could also be attending meetings,  giving site inductions, compiling data for applications and contract documentation, or getting experience working with different departments - and then there is the college work and gathering evidence to demonstrate my development – there isn’t really a typical day!

 “I like to set out my day using a to-do list starting with the most important tasks. NG Bailey has given me the platform to learn as much as I can from colleagues who have huge amounts of experience and knowledge, this is giving me the base to build a successful career. The company is known for encouraging further development, so, if you’re willing to grasp the opportunity an apprenticeship gives you, then as clichéd as it may sound, the sky really is your limit.”
