Proud to support our Armed Forces

Building on our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, NG Bailey is proud to support Armed Forces Week and we’re celebrating the contribution that veterans, reservists, and cadet forces volunteers make to our business.

We recognise the huge benefits of recruiting ex-military personnel, who have a breadth of aptitude, skills, and training which are transferable and add real value to our business.  Last year we launched our Military Recruitment Strategy, signed the Armed Forces Covenant and received the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Bronze Award.

We employ more than 90 colleagues who are veterans, reservists, cadet forces volunteers or partners and spouses of serving men and women. We have established strong partnerships with military groups and charities through which we offer work placements and the opportunity to join employability workshops run by our resourcing team to help those transitioning from military service into civilian work. We also continue to advertise our career opportunities through the Career Transition Partnership which is designed specifically for employers seeking to recruit ex-military personnel. Further information is available here:

Every year, roughly 15,000 people leave the Armed Forces in the UK and we believe that many of these individuals possess the skills needed to pursue a career in our industry. The main three transferable skills that ex-military personnel bring to our business are team-work, leadership and problem solving but there are an abundance of other attributes, such as discipline, a good work ethic, confidence, and strong decision-making skills that are also prevalent.
