NG Bailey celebrates raising £112,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK
NG Bailey is helping to support vital research into finding a cure for dementia by raising an incredible £112,193 for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
The company has beaten its target of fundraising £75,000 by more than one third during its 15-month partnership with the charity.
Employees voted overwhelmingly in favour of Alzheimer’s Research UK becoming NG Bailey’s charity partner for the 2017/18 and have thrown themselves into raising money for the charity. Fundraising events have included everything from a chilli eating competition and quizzes, to a backward sailing challenge, various sporting events and the Great North Run.
NG Bailey also worked to develop employees’ understanding about dementia, helping Alzheimer’s Research UK to pilot and launch its Learning Calendar. The calendar offers monthly talks and information for employees on different topics related to dementia. The resource is now used by businesses across the country, helping thousands of people develop their knowledge of dementia and to combat common misconceptions about the condition.
“Our charity of the year partnership is a core element of how we give back to the communities in which we work. Our employees chose to support Alzheimer’s Research UK and we are thrilled to have exceeded our original fundraising target. This has only been possible thanks to the dedication and passion demonstrated by our people in support of this amazing charity. We wish Alzheimer’s Research UK every success in their future research.”
David Hurcomb, Chief Executive
