We have an award-winning, industry-leading reputation for people development, through our apprenticeship training scheme and leadership programme. We invest over £3m a year in our training and development programmes as a whole.
NG Bailey has been taking on and developing apprentices since the early 1930s, and we receive up to 4,000 applications a year from school and college leavers looking to start a career with us. Many of our apprentices have gone on to have long and illustrious careers with NG Bailey, or elsewhere in the construction or engineering industries. Some, such as Sir George Buckley, the chairman, president and chief executive of global manufacturing giant 3M, have reached the very pinnacle of business.
More than 800 employees a year go through a range of leadership courses – aimed at improving management and leadership skills at all levels of the company, and to help identify and fast-track our brightest stars. We are also a recognised Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) training centre, offering programmes up to post graduate level.
